For the first time ever, Lisbon hosts a Summer Media School!

During eight days 40 young Media makers will work in one of four workshops: television, radio, photography or printed media. You’ll indulge in a rich learning environment and a fun experience, all run by young people for young people.

Enjoy the exchange of knowledge and cultures, while relaying on team work. On your four last days, you will be working online on your final project, which will call for your creativity. Don’t worry, there is still time for party!

If you’re between 18 and 25 years, active in the field of Media (student of Communication or Journalism, young professional or freelancer), feel comfortable working in English and have already participated in an international event, come and join us!

A Youth Press Portugal em parceria com a European Youth Press e com o Cafebabel Paris, acolhe pela primeira vez uma SUPER MEDIA SCHOOL (SMS). Cerca de 40 participantes jovens jornalistas e media makers europeus veem a Portugal, em Setembro, para produzir e recrear conteudos mediaticos naquele que sera o melhor curso de media de todos os tempos!!!

youthmedia.eu will be the first web based social network for journalists in Europe and a portal that offers updated information on European Media developments. Media makers from the printed and online press, television and radio, but also programmers, web-developers and designers, will be able to create their own profile and connect with others across Europe.

youthmedia.eu is an initiative by the European Youth Press (EYP), its German member organisation Jugendpresse and Project Leaders from Youthphotos.eu and the European Youth Media Days (EYMD). The platform will be launched during the EYMD in October 2008 in Brussels.

During the year, youthmedia.eu will be enlarged with a knowledge base, providing information on the European Media landscape: Where are the best Media trainings and universities? Where are the job possibilities? What kind of Media climate does the country have? And how can you develop European projects in the field of Media?

This is why EYP is launching a pan-European call for National Coordinators who will collect regional and national information that they feel are important for European Media makers to know about. Coordinators will be coordinated by the EYP office and gathered in a European city for training and discussions.

If you are interested in being part of this unique adventure, if you have a thorough knowledge of your country’s youth Media landscape, if you are experienced in information gathering and if you consider yourself belonging to the new generation of Media makers, send your application with CV and motivation letter to Vanessa Witkowski, Secretary General of the European Youth Press, Brussels (v.witkowski@youthpress.org). If you’ve been previously involved in an EYP member organisation, it’s considered an asset. The deadline for the applications is June 15th.

A Equipa d’ África é uma associação de jovens universitários, sem fins lucrativos, que desenvolve anualmente projectos de voluntariado-missionário e actividades de cooperação social e pedagógica em Moçambique, tentando melhorar as condições de vida das populações locais.
 
Já há 10 anos que todos os Verões partem para projecto, durante cerca de 2 meses, jovens de diversas faculdades e cursos, com o objectivo comum de ajudar as comunidades locais nas áreas da saúde, educação, apoio ao desenvolvimento e apoio social.

Equipa d’ África

O Alto Comissariado para a Imigração e Diálogo Intercultural (ACIDI), a Comissão Nacional da UNESCO (CNU) e o Gabinete para os Meios de Comunicação Social (GMCS) vão atribuir, pela 1.ª vez, o Prémio de Jornalismo sobre “DIREITOS HUMANOS E INTEGRAÇÃO”. O prémio será atribuído ao melhor trabalho realizado em 2007 por profissionais da comunicação social sobre a promoção e defesa dos direitos humanos e integração, cujo contributo para a protecção, incremento e consciencialização da diversidade e diálogo interculturais, seja considerado relevante.

O Prémio contempla duas modalidades:

• Um Prémio do Diálogo Intercultural, no valor de 5.000 Euros, a atribuir ao melhor trabalho sobre esta temática, publicado ou transmitido na imprensa, na rádio ou nos meios audiovisuais;
• Três Prémios, no valor de 3.000 Euros cada, a atribuir aos melhores trabalhos sobre a temática geral dos direitos humanos e integração, nas seguintes categorias: imprensa, rádio e meios audiovisuais.

As candidaturas decorrem até ao dia 31 de Julho 2008.

The Hungarian National Society of Student and Youth Journalists (DUE) would like to share an opportunity with its partners who is looking for a place for their summer meetings, workshops.
A fully equipped media-camp at lake Balaton is waiting for European media groups, national editorial offices, youth people to held their annual one-week-long camp, workshops, journalist practice or strategical meeting on a law price in a beautiful region of Hungary.
The camp is situated to the so called “Hungarian Sea”, lake Balaton in a very nice area ( http://www.balatonfenyves.hu ), with 6 beds bedroom and community places which ideal for team-building or meetings. After the Hungarian summer media camp the area will be available from 14th to 20th July 2008 and equipped with a radio studio for making radio programmes, with internet access to create on-line media and computers with printers for publishing community newspapers, magazines.
Independent groups with own programme and timeschedule can apply for the camp and also individuals who want to be involved into media projects. Mentors and technical stuff of the Hungarian DUE team will help their work on a basic level.
Media groups, editorial offices (even they can recruit people for their own projects) or individuals are welcome to join to the camp up to 30 persons anywhere from Europe. The one week long camp with accomodation and food costs 140 euro per person and the places should be reserved till 26th May by paying 50 euro per person in advance from the whole cost.
